There are three Areas in Scotland; East, North and West. They administer at a level between club and the Scottish Board.
They provide opportunities for competing at Area level including running Area Championships and selecting teams for the Pentangle event between East, North, West, Cumbria & DNAA and also for the National Inter-counties Team Championships organised by Archery GB each year.
Areas also organise and run workshops and other development events
Eastern Area Vacancies
As of September 2018, Eastern Area will require a new trophy officer, the responsibilities of which are as follows:
- Storing any unclaimed Eastern Area trophies
- Keeping track of the whereabouts of Eastern Area trophies
From the coming 2018 indoor season Eastern Area is looking for a volunteer to run the Junior and Novice Showdowns, this entails the following:
- Organising three competitions over the indoor season for novices and juniors

Pentangle
The Eastern Area hosted the Pentangle competition in 2017 and managed to win it at the same time! Read the Presidents report of the event and see the results below.

In the past we have had quite a success at various events including at the 2015 Inter County event The Eastern Area Men's Recurve Team won Gold at the National County Team Championships. This annual Mid Summer event is run at Lilleshall by the National Tournament Committee and attracts County teams from all over the UK. The trio of Vladimir Hurban, Matt Nowicki and Gareth Fleming came first in the Qualifying 720 and then won through to Gold in the Head to Heads. Their team placing of 3rd in the Sunday's 1440 round was enough to give them the overall win for the weekend. The Archery GB news story - Full Results can be found here
Eastern Area Constitution (amended December 2020)
The Pentangle is an annual event that rotates round the Scottish Areas, Cumbria and Durham & Northumbria (DNAA). In 2015 Northern Area expertly hosted the Pentangle competition at Laurencekirk in June as well as making a clean sweep in the Compound awards - Ladies, Gents and Combined.
