Good afternoon everyone
Scottish Archery has today received notification from sportscotland and the Scottish Government regarding changes to guidance for sport.
You can read the updated sportscotland guidance here and the Scottish Archery 'Beyond Level 0' guidance is still valid and can be viewed below.
As per the government briefing held today and contained within the guidance, there are opportunities to maintain archery and indeed to go about your archery activity as you have recently been doing.
However, the messages from government are clear around the requirement for everyone to minimise their physical contact (particularly indoor contact) with others unless absolutely necessary.
For archery in Scotland, this choice remains with members, clubs and facility providers.
As methods of good practice, we encourage every archer to take a Lateral Flow Test prior to attending any club or archery session. Some facility providers may ask for proof of the test or indeed for proof of vaccination which is their choice to request this.
We ask everyone to consider whether they should be mixing with other households at the moment. We know how much you love your archery and staying active so if you are attending a session, please make sure you continue to clean your hands regularly, wear a face-mask at all times except during your archery activity and take a Lateral Flow Test before leaving your home. (Lateral Flow Tests can be ordered here).
It is strongly recommended that you wear a face covering at all times indoors unless on the shooting line.
We understand this is a difficult and uncertain time and the guidance may not be as clear as that we have issued previously. We understand this and so many aspects are still advisory and not within the legal frameworks previous guidance has been framed within. If any club or leader within a club needs to discuss anything further then our staff team is here as ever.
All clubs have COVID Officers and we would ask members to speak with their COVID officer in the first instance but of course our staff are still around until December 22nd when we close for the holidays. We are of course aware there may be further updates and we will react if and when government advice changes at any point during the holiday period.
Please check the contacts page here for details of how to get in touch with our staff if you would like any assistance with the guidance. For the moment, please do take care of yourselves and those closest to you.
