Scottish Archery Statement - Phase 2 of Route Map

It was good to hear the First Minister’s (FM) update today regarding Phase 2 of the route map out of lockdown.

We are carefully considering the full details of the FM’s announcement and are finalising our Phase 2 Guidance document for submission to Government and sportscotland and await their approval – we hope therefore to be able to publish our Phase 2 Guidance in the coming days.

Until our Phase 2 guidance is published we will remain operating within the Phase 1 guidelines.

As we progress to Phase 2 public health and wellbeing remains the most pressing priority and we all have a responsibility to do what we can to continue suppressing the spread of the virus.

As the FM’s statement stipulated, this is another small step in extending exercise and physical activity therefore any activity must be outdoors and should result in no more than 3 households interacting whilst physically distancing - with a group size no more than 8 people. The recommendation to keep travel for leisure and physical activity to 5 miles or under from your home remains in place.

The new “Test and Protect” system is now live and we encourage anyone who is symptomatic of COVID19 please do check https://www.nhsinform.scot/campaigns/test-and-protect for further guidance.

We will continue to work with Scottish Government, sportscotland and other SGBs to progress plans for the return of sport when it is safe to do so as part of future phases of the route map.

Please do take care of yourselves and your loved ones and I look forward to sharing more with you when we can.
