Reminder: 2024 Selection Notice - Home Nations Outdoor Championship

26 Jun 2024

Just a reminder that Scottish Archery will send a representative team of up to 24 archers to this year’s Home Nations Outdoor Championship to be held on 17th and 18th August in Macclesfield. The Home Nations will be a standalone event this year instead of being part of the British Target Championships. Together with the other Home Nations we have agreed to take a more sustainable approach to funding to enable this event to take place annually..

This notice serves to invite eligible* archers to submit applications for inclusion in the team, which will comprise of 3 Women and 3 Men in each of the Recurve, Compound and Barebow categories. A reserve archer will be selected in each category and if not used for the Scotland team will be invited to participate in a Mixed Nations team competing against the rest of the Home Nations.

The championship will feature a WA70/WA50 qualification round, followed by Individual and Team Head-to-Heads. Individual and Team medals will be awarded for these. Scores for every archer will also count towards the Home Nations Championship with medals awarded to National Teams.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 1st July with archers expected to be notified prior to 5pm on Tuesday 2nd July.

Team Selection

As the Home Nations Outdoor Competition is a standalone event, there is no requirement for archers to pre-register. All archers selected for the Scotland National Team will be given a place at the competition. However, places will only be offered to those that have completed the Application process, so this may result in sending a part team.

Team Selection will be based on a combination of submitted scores, alignment with Scottish Archery values and current form. Submitted scores will carry most weight in the process.
