Scottish Archery has launched domestic funding criteria to support archers performing well in Tier 1 and Tier 2+ competitions
The Scottish Archery performance group which consists of the director of performance, director of coaching, independent director and pathways manager allocate competition funding support on an annual basis. For the coming financial year the focus is going to be on supporting archers competing in domestic competitions classed at Tier 1 and Tier 2+ and for youth key event stages (including the youth festival).
The aim of the funding is to provide some reward to those archers performing well so we can help to subsidise some of the costs that they incur travelling to events across the UK. The performance group has recognised the need to support archers at the right level and in the current season the international funding has not been widely accessed.
Scottish Archery’s director of performance Pip Tucknott said ‘This is a great opportunity for archers competing on the circuit to gain some reward and recognition for their efforts and we hope to see Scottish archers qualifying for the series finals again this year’.
