Meet our new Directors: Nathan McQueen

We are delighted to welcome Nathan MacQueen to the team as Director of Athlete Progression.

Aligned to our new strategic direction, we are now recruiting for a Director of Athlete Progression to join our team as part of our Board of Directors.  The Director will have a key role in supporting the implementation and delivery of our new strategy by reviewing our member pathway and athlete progression structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the National Development Manager to ensure suitable policies are

  in place and implement pathway programmes.

• Act as a specialist in the field of athlete progression

• Contribute fully to the Board’s involvement in the strategic planning of the

·        organisation and key decision making

• Sit on, or Chair the athlete progression subgroup

• Represent the board at internal and external events as and when required

·        Critical Competencies: Skills, attributes and abilities required for

Nathan shared his thoughts on securing the role:

''From my simple beginnings starting archery in 2016, I have gone on to compete at three paralympic games, four world championships and five Europeans.

I couldn't have achieved this success without the support behind me and it's from these experiences that I've learned a lot about what it takes to progress in archery to get to the top of the sport.

I'd love to be able to draw from my experiences to help shape the future of Scottish Archery and find Scotland’s next champions.''
