We are delighted to welcome Alex to the team as Director of Compliance.
Aligned to our new strategic direction, the Director of Equality to will have a key role in
supporting the implementation and delivery of our new strategy by leading at board level
on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for Scottish Archery. This will involve reviewing our
action plan and supporting Scottish Archery with the new Sportscotland ‘Moving to
Inclusion Framework’.
Aligned to our new strategic direction, we are now recruiting for a Director of Compliance to join our team as part of our Board of Directors.Â

The Director will have a key role in supporting the implementation of our new strategy, and will lead on the review of our governing documents and policies.Â
Â
Key Responsibilities:
Â
Review policies and procedures and make recommendations to the board on
changes.
Update progress at board meetings
Act as a specialist in the field of governance
Contribute fully to the Board’s involvement in the strategic planning of the
organisation and key decision making
Sit on, or Chair sub-committees of the Board as requested by the Chair.
Represent the board at internal and external events as and when required
Alex shared his thoughts on securing the role:
''I am delighted to join the board and aim to bring my skills as a solicitor and experienced board member in the regulated sector to the role. I am also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Bowyers keeping the traditions of longbow making alive and supporting good causes.

I have been involved in archery for over 40 years with success in the earlier years. I now enjoy the social side of the sport and the company of others in it.

My goals for my work with the board are to develop further the relationship with Archery GB.''
