Lead the Way

Lead the Way Event is a celebration event for young people engaged in leadership roles in clubs and a contribution to Year of Young People 2018 hosted by Sportscotland. The event will bring young people from across the country together, to develop their personal leadership skills and enjoy a day of networking with other young leaders

1 - Actively deployed in clubs
2 - The young person could be a coach, or a referee, or involved in the club committee etc. The focus on the day is not on the specific role they undertake but the development of their general leadership skills and abilities. Transferable skills. 3 - The main purpose is a personal development opportunity for the young people, to enhance and strengthen them in the role they have in their club
4 - Not exclusively but generally we’d expect the young people to be around 17 - 25 years
5 - They would attend unaccompanied

The day will consist of an opening plenary session followed by two workshops and a final closing plenary session. The young people will be able to select two workshop options from a choice of four, which will include - Self-Awareness; Emotional Intelligence; Mindset; Communication. The delivery partners are Tree of Knowledge and Scottish Sporting Futures. Both organisations are highly experienced in delivering to young people. Then sessions will be very interactive and fast paced
