On Saturday 19th October, Bannockburn Bowmen hosted their Open Worcester SRS event at Lornshill Academy Sports Complex in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire.
Tournament Organiser Judith Forbes shared her thoughts and reflections from the day:
''There was a full house at Bannockburn Bowmen’s Worcester and WA18 competition, with 40 archers competing in each session representing 19 different clubs. There was some close shooting, particularly where spot prizes were concerned! Congratulations to all the prize winners on the day, with special mention to compound archer, James Ross from East Kilbride Archery Club, who scored a perfect 300 in the Worcester round.''
The competition also produced some close matches. An example of this was in the Gents Senior Recurve category where the top 5 archers were separated marginally by only a couple of points. In first place was Fife Fletcher's Max Gordon with score of 538 followed by Alex Lai with 536 and Frank Hynds with 535 taking Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
It sounds like a good day of competition and great job by the Bannockburn Bowmen volunteer team and Judges Simon Garforth and Andrew Graham.
