Oxford Team Shoot
On the 26th and 27th August Oxford Archers is hosting a mixed team shoot. The criteria requires mixed teams to consist of one of each gender with both being the same bow style (longbows and barebows will be considered recurves), and from the same club, area, or sponsor team. With these restrictions in mind Eastern Area will be offering to pair up those who can’t find a team mate which fulfils these criteria - if you would like to be paired with another archer from the Area please send your two best 720 scores to the email below.
Please note this is a self-funded event as the Eastern Area is unable to contribute to costs.
Individuals will be paired with their corresponding ranking i.e. first ranked female recurve with first ranked male recurve. Closing date will be the 5th August, pairings will be sent out by the 7th and the closing date for entering the competition is the 12th. In the past we have had quite a success at various events including at the 2015 Inter County event The Eastern Area Men's Recurve Team won Gold at the National County Team Championships. This annual Mid Summer event is run at Lilleshall by the National Tournament Committee and attracts County teams from all over the UK. The trio of Vladimir Hurban, Matt Nowicki and Gareth Fleming came first in the Qualifying 720 and then won through to Gold in the Head to Heads. Their team placing of 3rd in the Sunday's 1440 round was enough to give them the overall win for the weekend. The Archery GB news story - Full Results can be found here
