Recount of the British Championships’ Home Nations event

This year’s Scottish team for the Home nations included a mixture of seasoned veterans, new faces and people returning to the team.

On the recurve team we had Malcolm Alexander, Jackie Fisher and Johanna Meyer – all representing Scotland last year on Euronations or Home Nation matches. Reinforcing the team was Erik Rowbotham who has returned to the team after several years of hiatus. As well as doing well individually, the team placed 3rd ahead of Wales and behind two especially toughEnglish and Northern Irish teams.

The compound team was comprised of veterans Claudine Jennings and Hope Greenwood, junior team member Matthew Wong and newcomer Rodney Groom. All performed well andqualified individually for the H2H matches. Hope did especially well and finished 4th in the final rankings! Apart from the individual performances, the team also finished 2nd in the Home Nations match, second only to a stellar performance by the English team.

We are really proud of you gents and ladies, with eyes looking for a great performance in 2018!
