We hope that your aim for each year will be to be selected for the Scottish Team or winter Training Squad so what does this mean and how do you go about it?
The SAA Selection Committee sets out rules each year for team and squad selection. Ask your club secretary to let you know when he/she receives this information. The file will be held in the Member's Area so you will need to ask your Club Secretary how to gain access
Alan needs to know what level of scores you are shooting so it would be a good idea to make sure that you send a copy of your score, especially scores shot in competition, to him at the end of each month. Alan will keep a note of your scores and when a team is to be selected he will refer to this information and the selection rules to find out who is shooting well at the time of the event. There are certain matches which the Scottish Junior Team attends each year:
At the end of the outdoor season the top juniors who have submitted their best 6 competition scores to Alan will be eligible for squad. Squad days, usually 4 over the winter, are normally held at Cluny Clays near Kirkcaldy covering topics such as fitness, nutrition, tuning, technique improvement and team building we also have fun and burst lots of balloons!
